About Art and Art Reproductions

By: Arthur Kimmelman.

Art can be defined as the deliberate use of some medium to communicate emotions or ideas between minds. The mediums of art can be as diverse as paintings, music, dance, sculpture. Basically, art requires creativity and imagination to convey the thoughts and ideas of the artist to the minds of others. An artwork is judged on the basis of how effectively it communicates these underlying messages, ideas or thoughts clearly.

Great artists like Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Picasso, and Michelangelo have created immortal works of art that are not only breathtakingly beautiful but enhance a sense of aesthetics in the viewer as well. They are known for their dazzling creative ability and inimitable genius. However, not everyone gets a chance to see their masterpieces. Therefore, the need for art reproductions was felt. Art reproductions are an effort to replicate the brilliant artwork, without taking away the original artist’s imagination which remains his/her intellectual property. Art reproductions are an effort to make great artworks accessible to a wider audience and to preserve them for posterity.

Oil Reproductions

Oil reproductions are handmade oil paintings on canvas. Skilled artists creatively add color and texture to highlight the essence of the subject, as required.

Van Gogh Reproductions

Van Gogh was an exceptional artist. He had an original way of working. He would draw the outlines with charcoal in the evening and complete a painting in a day. He drew what he saw without changing anything, least of all the colors. The artists reproducing his works are using the same working methods, techniques and materials used by Van Gogh. They have the momentous task of reproducing Van Gogh’s very powerful paintings that are in great harmony. These artists have to study the color compositions, materials, textures and every single detail adopted by the great artist. Only then can they create authentic reproductions of his work.

Picasso Reproductions

The Spanish artist, Pablo Picasso has left an abundance of artwork which is being reproduced. He is said to have created each piece in the same time. He was a versatile artist and his work spreads over a vast range of art forms from a painting in big format to etching, drawing, and sculpture. His drawings and the prints are known for precise detail and sharp contours, while his paintings reflect rapid execution and suspension of form. Among his most popular paintings are his nude portraits, self portraits, love scenes, heterogeneous couples, and cloak and dagger masquerades.

Framed Art

In recent years, framed art has become very popular since it decorates homes and adds a personal touch to formal office premises. Framed art blends with the surroundings and helps to define the private space of an individual according to his preferences and taste.

Framed art has a profound influence on good home décor, can be customized to suit the ambience, atmosphere, and sets the tone of your homes. Framed art add a touch of class, elegance and lend aesthetic value to the surroundings.

In the ancient times, exemplary artworks were accessible and available only to a select few. Over the years, it has evolved into various forms like reproductions, framed art and many other customized versions. As a result, art is found in every aspect of life and lends beauty, elegance and style.

‘A thing of beauty is a joy forever’… and, now, for everyone, thanks to art reproductions.
