Diesel and Gas Mileage

One important car specification is fuel mileage. Fuel mileage is how much fuel it takes to power a car or truck to drive a certain distance. It is also sometimes called fuel economy. Fuel mileage is very important because it determines how much gas you will use up every time you drive a particular distance. Because of the skyrocketing costs of fuel, people are hearing the terms fuel mileage and fuel economy everywhere. This is why people are turning to diesel-engine vehicles. These vehicles are generally more fuel efficient because they use diesel, a more efficient fuel. A tank of diesel allows a car to go farther than a tank of gasoline. Moreover, diesel fuel is usually cheaper, although there are standards and/or taxes imposed on diesel fuels in certain areas that increase its price. Nevertheless, use of diesel is becoming more widespread because of its better fuel economy and efficiency.

As a result of better fuel mileage from diesel engines, the use of diesel fuel continues to rise. The next time you buy a car, it might be a good idea to consider one with a diesel engine, especially if diesel costs less than gasoline in your area. Lower cost or not, using diesel fuel still guarantees you one thing: you get better results, because you can go farther on the same amount of fuel.
