The term soccer comes from from the term 'association football', and it assists to differentiate the international game, from that played in North America. Most sports have become big business, within which nothing is more significant than international football. Global soccer has assisted with race relations, but it hasn't been lacking some difficulties, during the process. Footballers of all races have become acclaimed as the stars they are, when they have transferred to clubs in other countries. The best footballers from Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, Africa the United States are idolized, and they are often transferred for vast sums of money in the international football world. Happily this has done much in getting rid of prejudiced racial attitudes. It is not easy to say why international soccer has developed into the entertainment colossus it now is. You may wonder how it is that two teams of eleven players, kicking a ball around for an hour and a half, with a half time break part way through, gather such enthusiastic attention. Possibly it is because there are young sportsmen, in great physical shape, who through their ability, present ball skills in a sport with which so many people can identify. It supplies a chance, to speculate on what might have been, if only you had thought about sport as a wonderful way of earning a living!
