By: Salvador Paez

A surgical face lift seems like the perfect solution for people who want their improve their face and bring back their youthful appearance. The only trouble with this is it can be costly. For people who don't have appropriate budget, it would definitely be out of the question. Thankfully, there's a cheaper, but effective alternative to this procedure, called the non-surgical face lift. These help lessen lines and facial wrinkles efficiently, although they do cost less compared to typical face lifts. Lower pain risks and short periods of recovery are also advantages brought about by non-surgical face lifts.

Even if non-surgical face lifts are very effective, they do have negative points. For one, non-surgical lifts are more recommended for people who only want to correct a particular facial area. They also last shorter than the usual surgical face lift procedure. Non-surgical face lifts come in several kinds, each having its own risks and benefits.

Botox is one of the most popular forms of non-surgical face lifts. This procedure involves a series of botox (purified protein) injections along the face area. The injections work by relaxing the facial muscles in the area for the wrinkles to lessen and the skin to smooth out. A Botox procedure's results can last from three to six months, with each session costing an average of $400.

Thermage is another non-surgical procedure, that was introduced in 2000. This type of face lift involves the application of radio frequency energy to the patient's face, which works to heat collagen and tighten, strengthen and organize it, resulting in younger-looking facial skin. Thermage is best suitable for people who are experiencing early facial aging, loose skin, and wrinkles that are around the nose and mouth. Thermage also helps reduce acne and acne scars. After the procedure, swelling and redness may be experienced and can last up to several days.

The collagen injection is another famous type of face lift. It works the same way as botox, because protein is also injected in the skin. This helps reduce wrinkles and lines, and also lifts skin tissues. You'll spend as much as $380 for every collagen injecting session.
