Sony Ericsson have deemed that the smartphone should be used by loads more people. To make that happen, they've created a whole product range, and plan to fill it with mobile phones that disguise the boundaries between normal phones and smartphones; the amazing new G-Series. Sony Ericsson G700 - Smartphone incognito What do you get if you take a smartphone, and make it look like a normal phone? Or, to say it another way, what if you take a normal phone, rip its innards out and replace them with smartphone bits? I'll tell you. The end result is the Sony Ericsson G700! When you see it, or hold it, the Sony Ericsson G700 is just like any other bog-standard mobile phone out there on the market. Well, ok, it looks like one of the sexier normal mobile phones out there, but the point is that it doesn't look like a smartphone. Well, a smartphone is precisely what it is! You'll find that out when you brush the screen, and realise that it is, in fact, a touchscreen. That means that what you're looking at is a UIQ-powered smartphone, hiding away in the body of a normal mobile phone. You get all the great benefits of a touchscreen device like the P1 with a 'normob'-style body, turning it into a real smartphone for the common man! Sony Ericsson G900 - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Smartphone! And of course, let's remember that the G700 has a big brother in the Sony Ericsson G900. This features all the same cool usability of the G700, with the same style, drawn from normal mobile phones, and importantly, it's just as simple to use! The main difference, here, is that with this beauty, the camera's been upgraded to change it to 5 megapixels, plus autofocus, meaning your photos will come out looking better than ever before. As well as that, you also get WiFi, letting you get online through hot spots all round the country! When you look at both these mobile phones, Sony Ericsson's master plan becomes apparent. They want to sell more smartphones, and advance the technology of mobile phones, to make it more high-tech... But the problem is, not everyone wants a mobile covered in buttons and knobs. And those customers are never going to buy an out and out smartphone, because, well, they're scared of the idea, and of not being able to work it. So, if you're Sony Ericsson, how do you make them change? You make a smartphone that is looks like, feels like, and is as easy to as, a normal mobile phone. That's exactly what the G-Series phones are, and exactly why they deserve to take off, big time!
