Recent information by the Online Marketing and Media Show (OMMS) discovered that businesses are scrapping traditional banner advertising in favour of natural online marketing services and SEO.
But, many business executives place an unrealistic emphasis on immediate results from their seo provider.
Writing in Marketing Pilgrim, Kurt Krejny notes that quite often these expectationsdemands cannot be met in small time scales and require patience.
He notes that this is a particular problem with web reputation management (ORM).
Mr Krejny notes: "It takes time and effort, and the client must understand the process and potential outcomes.
"One of the main ideas to convey to clients is that overall efforts to help a client with ORM will result in enhanced overall online visibility."
But businesses are seeing the benefits.
Estimates from Trakur suggest that ORM and search engine and web reputation management spending could double in the US by 2010 to $200 million.
